Blair, Nebraska Obituary – Joseph William Fryman

Joseph William Fryman IV was born December 20, 1947, in Blair, Nebraska, to Olga Schriefer Fryman and Joe Fryman Jr. He left this earthly world on December 8, 2024.

Joe grew up on the family farm north of Blair, attended Cuming City Country School, Blair High School, and Dana College. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves.

In 1971, Joe married Tamara Christensen. Joe and Tammy were blessed with 3 children, Erin Ring, Laura Jackson, and Matthew Fryman. Joe and Tammy lived and farmed on the family farm which has been in the Fryman family for 150 years. In addition to farming, Joe worked for H & R block in Blair for 30 years.

Joe served on the Washington County ASCS County Committee for 9 years, and on the Blair Community School Board for 20 years. Joe and Tammy joined the Riverview Grange in 1974, and he held various offices at the state and national Grange level.

Joe enjoyed travel and planning many adventures and experiences for his family. Joe also enjoyed restoring old tractors and cars, crossword puzzles, reading farm magazines, and card games.

Joe is survived by his wife Tammy, his children and grandchildren. Erin, Chad and William Ring, Laura, Mick, Hailey, Lanea and Tage Jackson, and Matthew, Beth, Nora and Lucy Fryman. Sisters, Joan Greene and Shirley Nyberg. Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Curt and Tami Christensen, Steve and Karen Christensen, Jeff and Linda Christensen.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Olga Fryman, infant sister Joyce, parents-in-law Tage and Louella Christensen, brothers-in-law John Green, John Nyberg, Ronald Christensen, and nephew Wade Nyberg.

Visitation will be at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair on Sunday, December 15, 5-8 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at Reach Church, 13121 County Rd 16, Blair, NE on Monday, December 16 at 10:30 a.m.

Memorials can be directed to Reach Church, Christ Lutheran Church, or the Blair Area Community Foundation.
