Blair, Nebraska Obituary for Roger Oppliger

Roger Kent Oppliger, 73, of Blair, Nebraska, passed away on February 12, 2025, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 15, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Columbus, Nebraska.

Roger was born on February 26, 1951, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Harry Ernst and Ellen Ruby (Coffin) Oppliger. After attending country school, he graduated from Columbus High School in 1969. He served honorably in the National Guard from January 1970 to June 1976.

On July 1, 1972, he married Becky Tworek in Columbus. The couple had three children: Chad, Dustin, and Erica.

Roger grew up farming in Polk County, working alongside his father raising cattle until 1993. He then began a career in the trucking industry, working for companies including Sliva Transportation and Wendt Farms. After retiring, he joined Woodhouse, where he spent the last eight years of his life delivering vehicles across the United States.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, and water skiing. His other interests included NASCAR, dirt track racing, skydiving, and attending the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Survivors include his wife, Becky; children Chad Oppliger of Columbus, Dustin (Tonya) Oppliger of Blair, and Erica (Jeff) Young of Albion; grandchildren Kaitlyn (Austin Pruss) Oppliger, Lindsay (Nick) Borgman, Landen Oppliger, Brittany (Matthew) Childress, Blaine Young, Dylan (Kerrigan Myers) Young, Dalton (Caydence Guthard) Young, and Braylee Young; great-grandchildren Myles and Madden Childress; sisters Gloria Neujahr of Gresham and Joyce (Vernon) Kuhnel of Osceola; and in-laws Myron Hobza, Katie Tworek, Bill (Diane) Tworek, Tom (Marilyn) Tworek, Janie (Brad) Whitefoot, and Joanie Zoucha.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father- and mother-in-law Joe and Esther Tworek; brothers-in-law Kenny Zoucha, Paul Tworek, and Gary Neujahr; nephew Andre Tworek; and sister-in-law Carol Hobza.
