Blair, Nebraska Obituary for Arthur Wayne Pensyl

Arthur Wayne Pensyl, 62, of Fremont, Nebraska, passed away on February 10, 2025.

Memorial services are pending at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Art was born December 16, 1962, at Fort Ord, California, to Guy Pensyl Sr. and Charlotte (Adams) Pensyl. He was raised in Omaha, where he graduated from Omaha North High School. Following graduation, he served honorably in the United States Army as a Cavalry Scout, a service of which he was always proud.

After his military service, Art began his career with the City of Omaha Parks and Recreation Department. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in hunting and fishing with his family at Gavens Point Dam and Fort Robinson in South Dakota, as well as Wilson Island and the Fremont State Lakes, where he could be found from early spring until the first snowfall each year. Art also took pleasure in cooking for friends and family and tending to his garden.

Known as a gentle giant, Art’s imposing stature was matched by his compassionate heart.

He is survived by his children, Joe Gruhn, Garrett Pensyl, and Tina Pensyl; grandchildren, Gage, Hailee, and Aubree; siblings, Guy (Heidi) Pensyl Jr., Tina (Steve) Halley, Kathy (Ted) Shively, and Naomi (Dan) Pensyl; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Savannah Pensyl; brother, Ervin Pensyl; and sister, Missy Pensyl.

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
