Monday, December 9, 2024 The week began with wildlife causing havoc on Highway 133, where deputies responded to a car-deer collision near American Eagle Lane before dawn. As the sun rose, Fort Calhoun was put on alert for a stolen 2018 Ford Explorer that vanished overnight from Wahoo, though the vehicle remained elusive. The day settled into routine patrols until nightfall, when a voluntary warrant surrender brought Jordan Ross to the county corrections.

Tuesday, December 10, 2024 Morning rush hour turned serious when a semi collided with a car on Highway 91, requiring Arlington Fire to transport one person from the scene. The day’s rhythm alternated between school patrols and another property damage accident on Highway 133. In a moment of community service, deputies helped a Dollar General employee caught walking along Highway 30’s shoulder, providing a ride to Fremont.

Wednesday, December 11, 2024 Arlington’s pre-dawn business checks revealed one open door among the 16 properties inspected. The afternoon took an unsettling turn on Jefferson Street when residents reported two suspicious individuals peering into windows – the subjects fled in a dark Honda with Douglas County plates before deputies arrived. A missing adult case resolved happily when Omaha Police located the individual through phone tracking. The night wrapped up with deputies handling an injured deer on County Road P32.

Thursday, December 12, 2024 Morning traffic control assistance was needed on Highway 75 at Hollow Road for a crash. The day brought both successful and unsuccessful warrant attempts – Crystal Flannery was arrested on a Washington County warrant, while other attempts came up empty. The evening concluded with a traffic stop on Highway 133 leading to the arrest of Calvin L. Peters Sr. for driving under suspension.

Friday, December 13, 2024 Deputies maintained their vigilant overnight business checks in Fort Calhoun and Arlington, with 30 total properties receiving attention in the early morning hours.
