Monday, November 25, 2024 Between routine business checks in Fort Calhoun and Arlington, deputies encountered their first notable incident – a male making obscene gestures at Fort Calhoun’s Kwik Pik, resolved with a courtesy transport to 48th & McKinley. The afternoon brought an Amazon fraud report and a missing person case, the latter ending positively when the subject was located. The day’s tranquility shattered with an unusual collision between a car and a recliner on Highway 133, followed by a more serious single-vehicle injury accident on CR 39.

Tuesday, November 26, 2024 Early morning calm gave way to an odd encounter in Fort Calhoun – a citizen approached a patrol cruiser seeking to use a phone, lingered for conversation, then silently returned home. Arlington’s afternoon brought reports of a reckless driver running people off the road, though no description was provided. The evening’s enforcement netted three arrests: Blanca Bautista Vargas for DUI, followed by a dual arrest of Machael R. Gomez for DUI and Leslie M. Arenas on a Douglas County warrant. A Kennard disturbance rounded out the night after successful mediation.

Wednesday, November 27, 2024 Crisis struck early in Herman with a suicidal party requiring Emergency Protective Custody. As the day unfolded, deputies handled a hit-and-run in Arlington and arrested Janea Perry on a county warrant. Evening patrol encountered a peculiar situation – a pedestrian on a self-described “walk of faith” who declined assistance. Fort Calhoun provided the day’s final arrest when Breana Snider answered to a Douglas County warrant.

Thursday, November 28, 2024 DUI enforcement dominated the early hours, with Zoe King and Jack Scott arrested in separate incidents. Morning brought Agden Gonzalez into custody for driving under suspension, followed by investigation of a dog bite incident reported from the previous day. A concerning afternoon report detailed a suspicious person approaching children in Fort Calhoun, though the subject wasn’t located. After clearing a deceased deer from Highway 91, deputies closed their day with one final DUI arrest – Gabrielle Bennett near Highway 75.
