A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church in Blair on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 10:30 AM.
Tim was born to John and Peggy Young on April 21, 1958, in Omaha, Nebraska. Raised in Blair among four siblings, he graduated from Blair High School in 1976 before earning his business administration degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. There, he met Julie VanOudheusden, whom he married on December 19, 1987, in Sioux City.
The couple lived in Scottsdale, Arizona, where Tim worked as a stockbroker and they welcomed their children John, Ben, and Maggie. In 1996, they returned to Blair. Tim was passionate about coaching his children’s sports, enjoyed fishing at Lake of the Woods, and was an avid Husker Football fan. He took great joy in being grandfather to his four grandsons, with another grandchild on the way.
He is survived by his wife Julie; children John (Kelcy) Young, Ben (Steph) Young, and Maggie Young and fiancé Tim Stoltenberg; grandsons Brooks, Hudson, Miles, and Ford; father John Young; siblings Rusty Young, Pam (Troy) Niday, Teri (John) Guhl, and Beth (John) Clarke; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy.
