Blair residents Clint and Amie Clausen are hosting a three-day sale this week that combines bargain shopping with community support. The sale, located at 1165 Lincoln Street in a heated shop, will help cover transportation expenses for First Lutheran Church’s youth group’s annual greenery fundraiser.
“We were asked to go to Minnesota to pick up the greenery the youth from First Lutheran Church had sold as a fundraiser this fall,” Amie Clausen explained. “We will be making this trip on November 26th.”
Shoppers will find a diverse selection of affordable items. “There are clothes for Newborns to size 6x for youth at just $1.00 a piece,” said Clausen. “Lots of household items, kitchen items, holiday decorations and gifts, some adult clothing, maternity clothes, and a very nice tool bench/work station.”
The sale runs Thursday, November 14th from noon to 6 PM, Friday, November 15th from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday, November 16th from 9 AM to 2 PM. “Saturday will also be a 1/2 price day on most items,” Clausen added.
“We hated to see the youth use their hard earned money to pay for fuel and food to pick up the greenery,” Clausen shared. “This way we can help them out in two ways. Picking up the greenery for them and not costing them the money to pay for the transportation.”
While this is the Clausens’ first charitable sale, they’re already thinking ahead. The community spirit will continue after the sale ends, as Clausen noted, “The majority of the left over items will then be donated to the youth of First Lutheran Church for their summer garage sale that also raises money for the youth travel fund.”
