Fredrick Henry Heinssen Jr., 59, of Blair, a third-generation American farmer, passed away February 7, 2025, at his farm home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 13, at 1:00 PM at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial will follow at Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Campbell Aman Funeral Home.
Mr. Heinssen was born January 11, 1966, at Blair Memorial Community Hospital to Fredrick and Betty (Jensen) Heinssen. He grew up on the family farm three miles south of Herman on Highway 75, where he developed his lifelong passion for agriculture and rural life.
A graduate of Blair Community Schools and member of First Lutheran Church, Mr. Heinssen was known for his diverse talents, including welding, carpentry, mechanics, and cooking. He particularly enjoyed raising cattle and took special pleasure in spring calving season. His skill in training working dogs for cattle operations was well-known in the farming community.
On August 10, 1991, he married Jacqueline Mundorf Borsh at County Bible Church near Blair. The couple made their home north of Blair on the farm where Mr. Heinssen was raised. Mrs. Heinssen preceded him in death in 2022.
Survivors include his daughter, Lindsay Heinssen of Omaha; son, Fredrick Heinssen III of Blair; stepdaughter, Jamie Borsh Murphy of Spokane, Washington; mother, Betty Heinssen of Blair; sister, Deborah Heinssen Pence of Blair; and nephew, Kenneth Pence of Blair.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline; stepson, Jared Borsh; father, Fredrick Heinssen Sr.; and grandparents, John and Ruth Jensen and George and Dorothy Heinssen.
