Rockford “Rocky” Shanks 1950 – 2024
Rockford “Rocky” Shanks, 74, of Blair, Nebraska, passed away December 7, 2024, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
Born April 30, 1950, to Richard and Juanita Shanks, Rocky spent his early years in Belle, Missouri. His father’s service in the United States Air Force took the family to Germany and France before settling in Nebraska when his father was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base. He married Mary Andreasen on December 12, 1981, in Omaha, and they later established their home in Blair.
Rocky is survived by his wife Mary; daughters Anna (Aaron) Christensen and Katie (Troy) McIntosh; grandchildren Lauren, Ava, Ella, Morgan, and River; and sisters Kelly (Scott) Kuhns and Cynthia Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Juanita Shanks.
Private family services will be held at a later date, with burial to follow at the family cemetery in Missouri.
