Rachel Reiman, 63, of Blair, Nebraska, passed away on February 13, 2025, after an extended battle with cancer. She was born on January 5, 1962, to Patricia and Charles Elson in Abilene, Texas.
A 1980 graduate of Bellevue West Senior High, Mrs. Reiman attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where she was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority and performed with the Huskerettes dance team. She earned her physical therapy degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1986 and later completed her master’s degree at Bellevue University.
Mrs. Reiman began her 36-year healthcare career at Jennie Edmundson Hospital before advancing through several positions within the Methodist Health System. In 2004, she joined Fremont Health Hospital as Director of Rehabilitation Services and later served as Administrator for Dunklau Gardens extended care facility, Home Health, and Hospice Services. Her dedication to patient care was commemorated through the creation of “The Spirit of Caring” award at Methodist Fremont Health, which continues to recognize staff excellence annually.
In 1992, she married Brian Reiman, blending their families. She brought her children Mercedes and Austin Elder to the marriage, and together they welcomed Courtney and Caden Reiman. She found great joy in spending time with her six grandchildren: Mya, Beckham, Evie, Hayes, Romee, and Scottie. She cherished walks with her dogs Samson, Harry Potter, and Aria, and treasured moments with her sister Gretchen Engelkamp.
Throughout her illness, Mrs. Reiman maintained her positive outlook, living by her motto to “Live Your Best Life” while drawing strength from her faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia and Charles Elson; mother-in-law Barbara Reiman; and sister-in-law Jennifer Reiman-Murphy. Survivors include her husband Brian; children Mercedes Scribner, Austin Elder, Courtney Reiman, and Caden Reiman; six grandchildren; and stepmother Jean Williams-Elson.
Services will be held at First Lutheran Church, 2146 Wright Street, Blair, NE, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Visitation will be Friday, February 21, from 5-7 PM at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, 444 S. 17 Street, Blair. Memorial contributions may be directed to Dunklau Gardens.
