Blair Lighthouse, Initial Community Reactions

BLAIR, NEBRASKA (2024 JULY 28, SUNDAY) Note: This is not our review of the Lighthouse. That is planned for sometime in the next couple weeks. This is an early report on what we’ve seen Blair residents say so far.

The recent opening of Lighthouse Bar and Grill in Blair, Nebraska has sparked considerable discussion among local diners. Taking over the former Jake’s Bar and Grill location in the Family Fare plaza, this new establishment has been drawing crowds since its debut.

So far, early patron feedback is mostly positive. Many visitors have praised Lighthouse for its food quality and atmosphere. Joyce Hudson, who visited during the restaurant’s second night, gave it a perfect score, highlighting the “huge, crunchy and delicious” onion rings. Joy Sonderup shared a similar positive experience, also rating it highly.

The extensive menu has received favorable comments, with diners enjoying items like the combo appetizer plate, tenderloin sandwiches, and salads. Several patrons have expressed appreciation for the remodeled space and expanded seating area.

However, some customers report long wait times, inconsistent food quality, and service issues. Zackery James Surls detailed two disappointing visits, citing problems with order accuracy and customer service. Another diner mentioned a significant wait for food, with one person in their party not receiving their order at all.

It’s important to note many reviewers acknowledge the challenges of a new restaurant opening, particularly given the high volume of customers Lighthouse has been experiencing. The restaurant has shown engagement with its customers, responding to questions on social media.
