Several food recalls announced this week may affect Nebraska shoppers, including multiple produce items and organic eggs.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has listed several recalls for potential foodborne illness concerns. Among these are multiple cucumber recalls from different suppliers, prepared foods containing potentially contaminated ingredients, and organic eggs.
Of particular concern is the SunFed cucumber recall, which has been linked to a salmonella outbreak that has sickened 68 people across 19 states, according to federal officials. The cucumbers were sold between October 12 and November 26 at various retailers including some Walmart locations. The FDA reports these cucumbers were grown by Agrotato, S.A. de C.V. in Sonora, Mexico. Of those interviewed in the outbreak investigation, 82% reported eating cucumbers.

- Kirkland Signature organic eggs from Handsome Brook Farms for potential salmonella
- Earth Farms vegetable medleys and whole organic carrots for potential E. coli O121:H19
- Baker Farms curly mustard greens for potential listeria
- Multiple ready-to-eat fruit and vegetable products from Gracie’s Kitchens Inc. for potential listeria
Walmart shoppers in Blair and surrounding areas are advised to check their recent produce purchases against recall information. Customers can contact their local Walmart store for specific information about affected products. Those who have purchased any recalled items should not consume them and can return them to the place of purchase.
Symptoms of foodborne illness can include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Anyone experiencing these symptoms should contact their healthcare provider.
