Blair Man Arrested Following Disturbance at Nebraska Street Residence

A 29-year-old Blair resident faces felony charges following an incident at a local residence on Tuesday evening, according to court documents filed in Washington County.

Timothy A. Peno was arrested without warrant at approximately 6:50 p.m. on January 28 after Blair Police Department officers responded to a disturbance call at 1623 Nebraska Street.

According to the arrest affidavit, officers were dispatched to the location at approximately 6:03 p.m. regarding a property dispute. The situation allegedly involved individuals attempting to remove personal belongings from the residence.

Court documents show Peno has been charged with Criminal Attempt of a Class 2A Felony under Nebraska Statute 28-201(4)(C) and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony (Not Gun) under Statute 28-1205(1)(B). The weapon in question was identified as a lime green Easton S450 Speed Brigade 27-inch youth baseball bat.

A witness from a neighboring property reported observing an individual placing a baseball bat in a vehicle parked behind the residence. Officers later recovered the specified baseball bat from the backseat of a 2008 Ford Edge registered to the defendant, according to the affidavit.

The defendant was transported to Washington County Corrections following his arrest. The case has been filed under Washington County Court jurisdiction.

Blair Police Department officers involved in the response included Sergeant Byrne, Detective Hatheway, and Officer Peck, with assistance from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

The case remains under investigation. All charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
