Blair Animal Shelter Pet Spotlight: Cashew

Cashew, a 1.5-year-old pit mix, has been at the shelter since July. Though previously adopted, he was returned, a setback that has taken its toll on this energetic dog. His eyes look deep into your soul, and he would make an amazing running partner.

This loving boy gets along with everyone he meets. He’s fully housetrained, knows how to sit, and takes treats very gently, though he does need some leash training. Despite his high energy, he has done well with children. He particularly loves playing fetch and running, and might benefit from having a dog buddy to play with.

Cashew comes fully vetted. His adoption fee includes:

  • Spaying/neutering (if over 6 months old)
  • Rabies vaccination (if over 4 months old)
  • Distemper vaccination
  • Kennel cough vaccination
  • Deworming
  • Current monthly flea/tick treatment

For those who can’t adopt, the shelter welcomes foster homes where Cashew could receive extra love and attention. He is good with both dogs and cats, and while he is a large dog, he is essentially a big puppy who will make an amazing family companion.

Adoption fees are subject to city and state taxes. Those interested in meeting Cashew can visit the shelter during regular hours.

Come meet Cashew today at the Blair Animal Shelter or Donate to Help Someone Else Find Cashew and Take Him Home!
