Two Blair residents were arrested Friday morning following a domestic disturbance. Zachary Cartwright, 37, and Kaelah Ferrell, 35, were both charged with third-degree domestic assault after police responded to the 1300 block of Lincoln Street at 12:20 AM. During the same week, Blair police also arrested Rebeka Holguin, 28, on an outstanding warrant during a South Street traffic stop.
Traffic enforcement resulted in twenty speeding citations throughout the city. The most significant violations occurred on South 19th Street, where two drivers were cited for traveling 57 mph in a 45 mph zone. Other notable speed infractions included citations for 51 mph in a 35 mph zone and 47 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Vehicle compliance checks led to multiple citations. Five drivers were cited for operating vehicles without valid registration, while three received citations for lack of proof of insurance. One driver was cited for operating a vehicle without a license.
Additional violations included two stop sign infractions, an expired in-transit violation, and one stop light violation. Animal control responded to two incidents: an animal cruelty case on Lincoln Street and a dog-at-large complaint on South 17th Street.
The activity report reflects a diverse geographic range of contacts, with citations issued to residents from Blair, Omaha, Missouri Valley, Portland (Oregon), Oakland, Herman, Fremont, Woodbine, Elkhorn, and Oak Lawn (Illinois). The majority of incidents occurred along South 19th Street and South 10th Street corridors.
