Two recent FDA recalls are affecting products in Blair, Nebraska. Both recalls involve undeclared milk ingredients, which pose risks to consumers with milk allergies.
The Pearl Milling Company recall affects their Original Pancake & Waffle Mix in 2-pound boxes, sold at both Walmart and Family Fare in Blair. The recall specifically targets boxes marked with “BBD SEP 13 25 P” on the top panel. Nebraska is one of 11 states included in this recall, which was issued after the company was alerted by a retail partner.
The NuGo protein bar recall involves Dark Chocolate Chip and Dark Chocolate Pretzel varieties. While Walmart does not carry these products locally, Family Fare previously stocked them but no longer carries the brand. According to a Family Fare representative, when the store receives recall notices, affected products are immediately pulled from shelves. However, in this case, the recall does not impact the store’s current inventory since they no longer stock NuGo products.
The NuGo recall was initiated after 11 consumers reported allergic reactions to the products. In contrast, no allergic reactions have been reported in connection with the Pearl Milling Company recall.
Consumers who have purchased the Pearl Milling pancake mix can return it to their place of purchase for a refund. Those with questions about the Pearl Milling recall can contact Quaker Consumer Relations at 1-800-407-2247, while questions about the NuGo recall can be directed to 1-888-421-2032 or contact@nugonutrition.com.
